I've been catfish angling for decades, and for at least as long I've been chasing the secret of a good kuttyogató. I always made the best ones myself – because what I found in stores was never quite what I actually needed.
I make every piece with my own two hands, because I believe quality lies in the details. From selecting the wood to the final tuning, I personally do every step – no mass production can replace this kind of individual attention.
For me, this isn't just work – it's a passion and a tradition. When I hand over a finished piece, I know it will be out on the water for many years to come – and maybe even the grandchildren will use it for catfish angling one day.

How is a kuttyogató made?
Choosing the wood
I only use solid, dried wood, which I select carefully.
Shaping
I shape the body and the head on a lathe and by hand. Every piece has its own unique size.
Tuning
The size of the inner cavity and the shape of the head determine the sound.
Sanding
After several rounds of sanding, the wood gets its silky-smooth surface.
Finishing
I treat it with natural oils and waxes – chemical-free and long-lasting.
Sound test
I test and fine-tune every piece myself – it only leaves my hands once it's in perfect condition.
Quality
I only work with solid, dried wood. I never let a piece leave my hands unless I consider it perfect.
Uniqueness
Every piece is different. Even the "identical" models differ from one another – that's the essence of craftsmanship.
